Join our Monthly UU Action Hour!

I am motivated to take action by the following affirmation in our UU Hymnal by Edward Everett Hale: “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”

Joining UU Mass Action for an hour each month is something I can do!

Sign up here to be a Congregational Sponsor! What does it mean to be a congregational sponsor for an Action Hour?

  • We will promote your congregation as a co-sponsor, giving your congregation publicity

  • We will provide a few minutes for a brief overview about a highlight from your social justice work in your congregation during the Action Hour

  • We ask that you do specific promotion in your congregation about that action hour (and all action hours, but especially this one!)

  • We will continue to prioritize UU Mass Action partner campaigns and issues, and follow the needs of our campaigns.

What are UU Action Hours?

Do you find it challenging to make time to sign petitions, call your legislators, or send emails about issues you care about? Commit to just one hour!

This gathering is an opportunity to hear updates about all our campaigns and take action together, such as calling your legislators, signing petitions, and more to support our frontline and coalition partners. We will focus on our key issues areas: climate justice, immigrant justice, decarceration, Indigenous Legislative Agenda, and economic and housing justice. We know that we send out a lot of opportunities to take action each week, and hope this can be one structure to support each other in staying accountable to showing up to these campaigns. We will walk you through each action, and be available to support any questions you have.

This will also be a chance to connect with other UUs from across the state!

Please reach out to Tali with any questions or accessibility needs at tsmookler@uumassaction.org.

For the past several months, I have joined members of my congregation and other UUs virtually to make calls, send letters or sign petitions to address various justice issues prioritized by UU Mass Action and their coalition partners. UU Mass Action does the hard part of determining where we can make the most impact and explaining why we are taking action. It’s easier to do together and you have others keeping you company. It is a good feeling to think of the impact that can be made.
