MA continues to be in a housing crisis, and we need a multi-pronged approach that supports keeping people and families in their homes. This Tuesday, there will be a hearing at the State House for the Senate version of the Rent Control bill.
The bill would not mandate statewide rent control, but it would lift the current statewide ban on rent stabilization, letting cities and towns provide critical protections to residents in their communities who are being forced out of their homes due to unaffordable rent increases.
