In an increasingly polarized world, we want to equip ourselves with the skills needed to navigate tense situations with grace and compassion, grounded in our Unitarian Universalist values. Whether at social justice events or within the sacred space of our worship, this training will offer tools to keep ourselves and each other safe by deescalating agitated or disruptive situations.
Led by UU Mass Action's Movement Building Director Claire Karl, we’ll delve into practical strategies for deescalating potentially volatile encounters and supporting individuals who may be experiencing agitation or distress. Together, we'll cultivate a deeper understanding of how to diffuse tension without resorting to violence. We invite your presence and participation as we embark on this journey together toward building a safer world.
